Coquito Any Time

Coquito is a traditional Puerto Rican holiday drink that is often enjoyed during Christmas time, but it can be enjoyed any time of the year. It is a sweet and creamy coconut-based drink. Here's a simple recipe for coquito that you can make at home.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (14 oz) of coconut cream

  • 1 can (14 oz) of condensed milk

  • 1 can (12 oz) of evaporated milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

  • 1 cup of white rum (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a blender, combine the coconut cream, condensed milk, and evaporated milk. Blend on high until the ingredients are well combined and the mixture is smooth.

  2. Add the vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg to the blender. Blend again until the spices are fully incorporated into the mixture.

  3. If using rum, add it to the blender and blend until the mixture is smooth.

  4. Transfer the coquito mixture to a large pitcher and refrigerate for at least an hour, or until the mixture is chilled.

  5. Serve the coquito in small glasses and sprinkle some ground cinnamon on top for garnish.
