Chocolate Almond Chai Tea with Chia
Ingredients:
2 cups water
2 chai tea bags (or 2 tablespoons loose leaf chai tea)
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 tablespoon almond butter
1 tablespoon chia seeds
2 tablespoons honey or sweetener of your choice (optional)
1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
Whipped cream (optional, for garnish)
Chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the chai tea bags or loose leaf chai tea and let it steep for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse. Remove the tea bags or strain the loose leaf tea.
Add the cocoa powder and almond butter to the saucepan with the brewed chai tea. Whisk the mixture until the cocoa powder and almond butter are fully dissolved and well combined.
Stir in the chia seeds, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture. Chia seeds will add a delightful texture and additional nutritional benefits to the tea.
If desired, add honey or your preferred sweetener to the mixture, stirring well to incorporate the sweetness. Adjust the amount according to your taste preference.
Pour the chai tea mixture into a blender or use an immersion blender to blend until smooth and frothy.
In a separate small saucepan, warm the milk over medium heat until it reaches your desired temperature. You can also use a milk frother to heat and froth the milk.
Divide the blended chai tea mixture between two mugs. Pour the warm milk into each mug, gently stirring to combine the flavors.
If desired, top each mug with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle some chocolate shavings for an extra indulgent touch.
Serve the chocolate almond chai tea with chia immediately and enjoy the rich, comforting flavors.
